It's much more than just a matter of IT.

Cyber Security: the way of our future.

00:00 / 01:15

As David Bernstein stated ‘For every lock, there is someone out there trying to pick it or break-in'. That every much so applies to the digital realm the modern world is transitioning into, and the need for cyber security has never been higher. Cyber Security is defined as a system of technologies, practices and processes that aim to protect the data, information, networks and digital assets of individuals, businesses, and organisations. Cyber security cannot be identified as a single technology or method of practice, but rather it branches to the collective processes and mechanisms that ensure online safety.

Such protection is essential against online attacks, otherwise known as cyber-attacks. A cyber-attack is a malicious attempt by hackers and harmful third-parties to access, change and/or destroy sensitive data, privacy, digital identity and processes. Attackers usually have a motive behind such threats, whether it’s for financial gain or to steal personal information or data. To prevent cyber-attacks, cyber security is implemented in multiple layers of protection that are spread across networks, programs, devices and data to ultimately improve online protection.
